Rebirth 2007 arts festival is Big Island's Burning Man

The campground and organic farm known as The Shire, outside Pahoa on the Big Island, will be the site of Rebirth 2007, an official Burning Man regional event.

The tents and performances go up April 26 to 29. The four-day agenda includes theme camps, live music, DJs, a lu'au, and, of course, a 20-foot-high burning phoenix.

The event is organized by Ka Pilina, a nonprofit organization dedecated to growing community and building social capital through its support of interactive art in Hawai'i.
