Punahou's McLachlin is Gatorade Player of the Year

Punahou senior forward Spencer McLachlin was named the Gatorade Hawai'i Boys Basketball Player of the Year.McLachlin, the Interscholastic League of Honolulu co-Player of the Year, averaged 13.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 2.5 assists per game in helping the Buffanblu win their first ILH title since 1999.
McLachlin is heading to Stanford in the fall to join the men's volleyball program.
He is a finalist for the National Boys Player of the Year award, to be announced this month.
Former honorees include Junior Ale (Kahuku), Kyle Pape ('Iolani) and Derrick Low ('Iolani).
