Shinto shrine to hold pet blessing festival

The Hawaii Kotohira Jinsha-Dazaifu Tenmangu, the Shinto shrine at 1239 Olomea St., is holding a Pet Blessing Festival 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 3.As part of Pet Appreciation Week, leashed or caged pets will receive a blessing as well as a "pet shave ice" (shave ice in a bowl topped with some Iams flavored sauce and a treat in dog and cat flavors).
