Swells rolling in on north- and west-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

Two swells that may warrant high-surf advisories will hit the north- and west-facing shores of all islands today.

The first is due tonight and a larger swell is due on Sunday.

Today's surf conditions:

  • Surf along north-facing shores will be 8 feet to 12 feet, with occasional higher sets.

  • Surf along west-facing shores will remain at 6 feet to 8 feet, with occasional higher sets.

  • Surf along east-facing shores will decrease to heights of 2 feet to 4 feet.

  • Surf along south-facing shores will remain 2 to 4 feet through Thursday.

    Surf forecast:

Several northwest swells are expected over the next couple of days. The surf will decrease on Saturday, but a significant northwest swell arriving Sunday will produce surf near warning levels. Surf will trend down on Monday.
