More than 65,000 people attended this year's Honolulu Family Festival, an attendance record for the event said Mayor Mufi Hannemann."For the second year in a row, you could see and feel the joy and bonding of families and friends at Magic Island," Hannemann stated in a news release yesterday. "I would like to extend a big mahalo to the Honolulu 100, E.K. Fernandez, our corporate sponsors and volunteers who put in so much of their time and effort in making the Family Festival a tremendous success. The festival is a great event that is helping the City make improvements to Ala Moana Beach Park and I'm looking forward to doing it again, bigger and better, next year."
The festival was held March 29 to April 1 at Ala Moana Beach Park. Profits from the festival are being allocated to the park's refurbishment.
