The entry deadline has been extended to April 23 for the Hawaii Student Film Festival, which offers young filmmakers $2,500 in cash prizes.
Among the categories: $1,000 for the peace video category, sponsored by the Honolulu Rotary Club; $1,000 for the overall winner, sponsored by Hawaii Student Television; and $500 for best female student video, sponsored by Carmen Stevens.
The festival will be held at 10 a.m. May 12 at the Regal Dole Cannery theaters, with actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa in attendance. Kutmaster Spaz will be master of ceremonies.
