ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Nominate a hottie

Advertiser Staff

Cosmopolitan magazine is looking for a few good bachelors ... again. The magazine that gave the world a bare-naked Burt Reynolds on bearskin is conducting its state-by-state search for the country's 50 hottest single men. A panel of experts at Cosmo will choose one bachelor from each state as that locale's male representation of all things hot. The one dude out of all 50 males agreed upon as the hottest? He gets to be Cosmopolitan's 2007 Bachelor of the Year! Last year's Hawai'i Cosmo bachelor, Kapa'a chiropractor Ryan Smith, didn't take home Bachelor of the Year honors (Colorado computer programmer Matt Wood did) but we can try again. Got a man for Cosmo? Go to http://cosmopolitan.com/bachelors for nomination information.

HAPPENING

'LOST' ACTOR ON HAND AT RED CROSS BENEFIT

Are you a Daniel Dae Kim fan? Then you might want to attend the American Red Cross (Hawai'i state chapter) "Tea at Halekulani" from 1 to 4 p.m. April 22. Kim will be one of the event's special guests. All proceeds will go to the Hawai'i state chapter to meet crisis needs of the community and to perpetuate emergency preparedness education and awareness. The sweet and savory afternoon tea will be accompanied by a fashion show of the Yves Saint Laurent spring/summer 2007 collections, with accessories supplied by Tiffany & Co. There will also be a silent auction. Tickets: $250. For tickets, call Jaylene Chee at 739-8130 or e-mail cheej@hawaiiredcross.org. Sponsor tables are available for $2,500 and $5,000.

FINAL WORD

"If you could start your article with the words 'He's much taller in person than I expected,' that would be fantastic."
