School to get musical items

Pearl Harbor Elementary School will receive $25,000 worth of new musical instruments from the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, Oceanic Time Warner Cable and the University of Phoenix as part of the foundation's effort to restore school music programs nationwide.

Pearl Harbor Elementary will have a music demonstration today to celebrate the grants. Lanakila Elementary School, Ka Waihona 'o ka Na'auao Elementary School and Kuhio Elementary School are also each receiving $25,000 worth of instruments from the foundation and Oceanic, which have provided $150,000 worth of instruments to Hawai'i schools since 2000.
