Three parades set for Waikiki

There will be three parades in April through Waikiki.

  • The Salute to Youth Parade, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, starts at Fort DeRussy moves along Kalakaua Avenue to Kapi'olani Park. About 1,500 marchers, 18 vehicles, five floats and 12 bands will participate in the parade. Streets closings will be in place at 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.hawaiiinvitational.com.

  • The Celebration of Youth Parade, 6-8 p.m. Saturday, from Fort DeRussy along Kalakaua Avenue to Kapi'olani Park. It will feature 500 marchers, 10 vehicles and five bands. Streets closing will begin at 5:30 p.m.

  • The Waikiki Spam Jam Street Festival, 4-11 p.m. April 28. The event is expected to include more than 8,000 participants. Traffic will be diverted starting at 2 p.m. for set-up. Kalakaua Avenue will be closed to all traffic during the event, from Seaside Avenue to Kaiulani Avenue. For more information visit www.at-marketing.net.
