The Pearl Harbor-based guided missile destroyer USS Russell (DDG 59) is scheduled to return to its homeport tomorrow, following a surge deployment with the USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group (CSG).

The Reagan CSG surge deployed to the 7th Fleet area of operations from Naval Station North Island on Jan. 27; Russell joined the CSG on Feb. 1.

While deployed, the CSG supported Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa, and conducted maritime security operations.

Russell has a crew of more than 330 sailors and is commanded by Cmdr. C. Brad Cooper, II.
