UH West O'ahu day set for Tuesday

Advertiser Staff

Entertainment and games will be part of the University of Hawai'i-West O'ahu's (UHWO) annual UH West O'ahu Day on Tuesday.

The public can join faculty, staff and students for the free celebration. Gov. Linda Lingle and other community leaders will take part in the festivities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pearl City campus.

The annual event is an opportunity for Leeward O'ahu communities to visit the campus and learn more about the programs offered and the plans for moving forward as a four-year university and towards a new campus in Kapolei, which is scheduled to open its doors in Fall 2009. UHWO will welcome its first freshman class this fall.

UHWO is located at 96-129 Ala Ike in Pearl City at the Diamond Head end of the Leeward Community College campus. Free parking will be available. For more information, call 454-4750 or visit UHWO's website at www.uhwo.hawaii.edu.
