KAHALA
Care baskets for adults, kids

Advertiser Staff

The Kahala Nui senior living center will be giving out about 100 care baskets this morning to families selected by the Center for Abused Spouses.

The baskets for adults have items such as shampoo, bath soap, perfumes, lotion and toothbrushes. Children's baskets have candy.

The senior living community on Malia Street in Kahala chose to organize the basket donation rather than a traditional Easter Egg hunt, said Terry Peacock, Kahala Nui marketing director.

"The effort was spear-headed by the residents, and they were looking for an organization that dealt with children who might not get to celebrate Easter."
