Kaua'i man brought ashore at Wailua Beach dies

A 63-year-old Kaua'i man was pronounced dead at Wilcox Hospital this morning after being brought ashore at Wailua Beach.

According to police, the man was in trouble and a surfer brought him to shore on his surfboard.

While being pulled to shore, the man fell off the board and stopped breathing.

Lifeguards began administering CPR, and medics continued the procedure on the way to the hospital, where the man was pronounced dead.

His name was not released.
