Kane'ohe's Wilson finishes with 78 at The Masters

Advertiser Staff

Kane'ohe native Dean Wilson shot a 6-over-par 78 the final round of the Masters today and finished at 13-over 301 at Augusta National Golf Club.

Zach Johnson shot a 69 en route to a 1-over 289 and a two-stroke victory over Tiger Woods (72) Rory Sabbatini (69), Retief Goosen (69).

Double bogeys at two par-4s — Nos. 3 and 7 — and bogeys at the par-5 No. 2 and par-4 No. 5 put Wilson at 6 over, but he got a stroke back when he sank a birdie putt on the par-5 No. 8.

After eight consecutive pars, Wilson bogeyed the par-4 17th to go back to 6 over.

Wilson, playing in his first Masters, shot 75-72-76 in the first three rounds.
