Advertiser Staff

Roy's Restaurant will launch its new Waikiki Beach Walk location with a gala fundraiser April 27 to benefit the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai'i.

The event, showcasing an array of appetizers and a Better Brands-sponsored tequila, champagne and martini station, begins at 6:30 p.m. with entertainment by Tihati Productions featuring everything from conch shells and torch lighting to hula and Hawaiian music.

A silent auction will offer products and services from such donors as Louis Vuitton, Waikiki Beach Marriott, W Honolulu, Park Shore Waikiki and Ko Olina Golf and such dining certificates from Compadres Bar & Grill, Top of Waikiki, Canoes, Paradise Cove and Germaine's Lu'au.

Admission is $175 per person, with reservations taken by the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) at 926-8274. VASH board member Carol Pregill, president of Retail Merchants of Hawaii, and Ron Parsons, are chairing the benefit.

The Waikiki location will be Roy Yamaguchi's 35th restaurant since his 1988 Hawai'i Kai debut that has set the standard for Hawaiian fusion cuisine worldwide. Yamaguchi is the first-ever James Beard Award Winner.

Roy's will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with lunch and dinner service 365 days of the year. For reservations, call 923-7697.
