Feb. milk production falls 23 percent from year ago

Hawai'i milk production fell 23 percent to 3.7 million pounds in February from a year ago, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Cumulative milk production for the first two months of 2007 was down 20 percent from the same period in 2006.Hawai'i egg production fell 19 percent to 6.4 million in February compared with February 2006.
Hawai'i commercial pork production during February dropped 8 percent to 254,000 pounds compared with February 2006. Cumulative pork production during the first two months of 2007 also fell 8 percent.
