Community meetings on recycling start tonight

The first of seven community meetings on recycling around O'ahu will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Mililani Mauka Elementary.

Mayor Mufi Hannemann is leading the meetings, asking for residents' input and ideas for developing a sustainable recycling system.

Other meeting dates, all from 7 to 8:30 p.m.:

  • April 24: Kaiser High School

  • April 25: Kahuku Elementary

  • May 8: Mission Memorial Auditorium

  • May 10: Windward Community College

  • May 21: Kapolei Hale

    The seventh meeting, to be held May 12, will be geared toward O'ahu's youth. Invitations will be extended to high school student leaders.
