Contribution goes to golf cart

Advertiser Staff

The Honokai Hale/Nana-kai Gardens Community Association received $5,000 recently from Kapolei Property Development to buy a golf cart that will help the group conduct neighborhood patrols.

The company, an affiliate of the James Campbell Co., also has contributed $1,000 for the association to purchase a copy machine and an additional $1,000 for yellow "citizens on patrol" T-shirts for volunteers to wear as they walk the neighborhood.

Lorraine Martinez, association president, said the cart will help the patrol's efforts to "spot illegal cars, untagged cars and suspicious activity, and report it to the police."
