University of Hawai'i men's volleyball opposite hitter Lauri Hakala was named the co-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week for the first time this season.

Hakala averaged 5.44 kills per game to lead the Warriors to a two-match sweep of Long Beach State over the weekend.

On the first night against the 49ers, he slammed down a season-best 29 kills and hit .309. On the second night he had a match-high 20 kills and was in on four blocks.

UH teammate Dio Dante shared the award last week with UC Santa Barbara's Evan Patak, who also shared it this week with Hakala.
