Police arrest 23 more on Big Island for DUI

DUI roadblocks and patrols on the Big Island continue to net drunk drivers. From April 3 to April 9, Hawai'i police arrested 23 motorists for DUI, three who were involved in accidents and one under the age of 21.DUI arrestes on the Big Island are now at 356 for the year, comparted with 314 at the same time in 2006.
Major traffic accidents, however, are down from 711 in 2006 to 583 at the same time this year, an 18 percent decrease.
