Honolulu YMCA invites families to 'Healthy Kids' event

The YMCA of Honolulu will this Saturday will join more than 1,500 YMCAs nationwide for the 16th annual YMCA Healthy Kids Day.

A "Put Play in Your Day" event encourages kids and families to engage in fun and creative activities that support a healthy lifestyle.

Planned activities include games, sports, arts and crafts, and health screenings.

On O'ahu, Healthy Kids Day activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YMCAs in Kalihi, Nu'uanu, Mililani and Kailua.

The event is free and open to the public.

Participating families will receive information about tips on raising healthy and active kids, YMCA T-shirts and water bottles.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day is part of YMCA Activate America, a national initiative designed to help children and adults discover and maintain healthful habits.
