'Men in Company F' author to speak at 'Aiea library

'Aiea Public Library will host "Meet the Author: Ronald Oba ('The Men in Company F')," a free program as part of an ongoing series about the 'Aiea community, on 9 a.m. Thursday.

Oba is an Army veteran who served in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II and received honors including the Presidential Unit Emblem, World War II Victory Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge with 7th Army and 5th Army, and the Bronze Star Medal.

He wrote "The Men in Company F," a collection of memoirs of former World War II veterans, and "The ole Man, Father Kenneth A. Bray."

Oba is also the editor of "Go For Broke," the quarterly bulletin of the Honolulu 442nd Veterans Club.

The one-hour program is suitable for ages 12 and up, and will be held in the library's meeting room. For more information, call the library at 483-7333.
