Congresswoman Hirono visits Kailua Elementary today

U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono is visiting Kailua Elementary School this morning to sign a "Pledge to America's School Children," as well as read to children at the Pre-Plus preschool on the campus.The "Pledge to America's Schoolchildren" is a National School Boards Association project that calls for improvements to the No Child Left Behind Act, funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, support for school readiness and teacher training programs and assisting school districts to help students attain "21st century skills" in math, science and technology.
