Wednesday's high school basketball: Radford wins

Ta Nitra Byrd scored 12 of her 22 points in the first half, leading the host Radford Rams to a 47-30 victory over the Pearl City Chargers Wednesday in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Red West game.

The Rams raced to a 16-1 lead in the first quarter and led 27-14 at intermission to improve to 7-1.

Jazmine Pahukoa-Malia scored 11 points for the Chargers, who fell to 5-3.

KALAHEO 50, KAHUKU 39

Shanadee Canon scored a game-high 19 points and Caira Pires added 10, leading the visiting Mustangs past the Red Raiders.

FARRINGTON 41, MOANALUA 39

C'ani Kealoha scored 13 points, including two 3-pointers in the third quarter when visiting Farrington opened a 32-22 lead before holding off Moanalua and Britni Ronolo, who sparked a rally with nine of her 12 points in the fourth quarter.

WAIANAE 46, WAIALUA 40

Danielle Lovell scored 15 points and the visiting Seariders outscored the Bulldogs 12-6 in the final quarter.

CASTLE 43, WAIPAHU 35

Niki Kobashigawa scored 10 points to lead the visiting Knights over the Marauders, who got 17 points from Margaret Siligo.
