Suspect in car-threatening case released

A 43-year-old Village Park man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Monday has been released pending further investigation.

There was insufficient evidence to charge the man with driving a vehicle at a boy, 15, following an after-school fight Monday in Pearl City between the youth and the man's son, police said.

Police release alleged machete attacker

A 31-year-old man arrested in Wahiawa Monday night for allegedly stealing a baseball bat from a parked van and chasing a 21-year-old man with a machete was released today without charges.

The arrested man told police he acted in retaliation after allegedly being robbed of a gold chain by the 21-year-old man.

Woman allegedly threatened mother

Charges are pending against a 33-year-old Kane'ohe woman arrested today for allegedly threatening to kill her mother with a 9-inch-long knife during a domestic dispute.

The woman was arrested at 2:25 p.m. and booked on two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening. No injuries were reported.

Arrest made in Kalihi assault case

A Wahiawa woman was arrested in Kalihi today for investigation of second-degree assault, kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening, and second-degree robbery.

The woman was arrested in a 14th-floor apartment on Linapuni Street at 5:40 p.m.
