Historic society fetes music

The Kaua'i Historical Society will celebrate classic voices of the Islands during its annual fundraiser, Golden Voices-He Makana No Kaua'i (A Gift for Kaua'i).

Nina Keali'iwahamana, Mahi Beamer and Palani Vaughn will sing, Hal Kinnaman will play slack key guitar and the Ladies of Waikahe Lani Malie will dance hula.

The event, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Kaua'i Marriott Resort, will start with a new documentary being produced by the historical society, "Preserving Hawaiian Backyard Music."
