New warning systems in Kalaeloa tested today

Advertiser Staff

Government officials today will test new outdoor siren warning systems in Kalaeloa from noon to 2 p.m. People in the area are advised that the intermittent siren sounds will be a test.

State Civil Defense and the city Department of Emergency Management is evaluating equipment from three prospective vendors: Federal Signal Corp., American Signal Corp. and Acoustic Technology Inc. Siren systems will be judged on sound quality, ease of programming and maintenance, the city said.
