Views sought on road project

The Federal Highway Administration is seeking comment by April 23 on a state Department of Transportation proposal to make improvements at the intersection of Farrington Highway and Lualualei Homestead Road to resolve congestion and safety problems.

The proposal includes the construction of a Honolulu-bound left-turn lane, the widening of Farrington Highway and reconstruction of sidewalks and gutters.

The plan also calls for relocating the bus shelter, fire hydrant, drainage pipes, catch basin, electrical boxes, traffic signals and more.
