KALAELOA
Civil Defense testing sirens

Advertiser Staff

State and O'ahu Civil Defense officials will perform tests on the warning siren at the intersection of Coral Sea Road and Tripoli Street in Kalaeloa from noon to 2 p.m. today.

Staff and three manufacturers will conduct audible siren testing, trying out different types of sirens to see which ones are most effective, according to state Civil Defense public information officer Ray Lovell.

People in the Kalaeloa vicinity as well as portions of lower Kapolei may be able to hear the sirens but should not be alarmed, Lovell said.

Usually, alert warning sirens are tested only at 11:45 a.m. on the first working day of the month.
