Missing Japanese exchange student sought

Police and Honolulu firefighters are looking for a 21-year-old Japanese exchange student who was missing yesterday on the North Shore.

Masumi Watanabe was last seen Thursday at about 9:20 a.m. walking on Pupukea Road near Alapi'o Road. She speaks very little English, police said.

Watanabe was last seen wearing a Navy blue hooded long-sleeve sweater, brown shirt, blue denim pants, and pink shoes. She also wears glasses with silver rims, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about this person to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300, or *CRIME on your cellular phone.
