No. 10 UH could host men's volleyball playoff match

Advertiser Staff

The 10th-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball heads into this week's matches against Stanford Friday and Saturday with a chance of hosting a conference playoff match.

The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches against Stanford are 7 p.m. both nights at Stan Sheriff Center.

Currently, the Warriors are in seventh place in the league standings. If UH remains in seventh after its match Saturday, UH will host an MPSF playoff match April 18.

If UH is slotted at any other seed, the Warriors will not host the event.

No. 6 Cal State Northridge (10-11 MPSF) plays at No. 8 USC (9-12) on Saturday. UH is (9-11) and holds tiebreakers over USC and Cal State Northridge.

UH is sending out ticket information to its season ticket holders and tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Sunday, if UH hosts the match.

Prices for the playoff match are: $14 for seats in the lower bowl, $11 upper-level adult seats and $10 for upper-level senior citizens. Students (4-18 years old), UH students, Super Rooters and Manoa Maniacs are $5.

Tickets can be purchased online at HawaiiAthletics.com or at Stan Sheriff, which will be open Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, call 956-4482.
