Memorial set for those who willed bodies to science

Advertiser Staff

A memorial service for people who willed their bodies to scientific study at the John A. Burns School of Medicine is scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow at the school's third-floor auditorium in Kaka'ako. A scattering of ashes will follow after a canoe launch at 1:30 p.m. near Magic Island.

The service will honor families and friends of the 57 people who willed their bodies during the past year. Participants in the school's willed body program agree to donate their bodies for dissection and analysis by medical students. Faculty and students will also attend the service.
