being already in the hot seat because of his mess up with the uh football schedule, a wise move was made by hiring the fan's favorite pick in coach nash. meaning no disrespect to coach nash, but think, if we had a top notch football schedule this upcoming season, do you think coach nash would have been given the job or would herman frazier have gone his own way? no matter what, it was the right move for both the university, the people of hawaii, and for mr. frazier himself! just because of one right deed, doesn't mean he's off the hook just yet! he's just not the topic of discussion for the next couple of days but WHEN the final schedule comes out.......we'll be hearing a new tune! lead us to the promise land coach nash! congratulations again!

Congratulations HEAD Coach Bob Nash; you truly earned and deserved the job. Now what I want to know is what took AD Herman Frazier so long ??? It's not like we didn't know at the beginning of the season that Coach Wallace wasn't going to be back. If AD Frazier doesn't know it by now let me say this...hey Herman, recruiting is the bloodline of every collegiate sport. We have wasted so much time in making a decision which was a "no brainer". Let's hope Herman didn't setup Coach Nash up to fail in his first season with a lousy recruiting class because we had to wait so long...not to mention that "shibai" advisory committee. Now let's fill that Nov 3rd date for football with a quality D1 opponent !!!

It's great! Nash is the obvious choice. Why was so much time wasted in the process. Now let's hope Frazier can fill up the football schedule!

Congratulations. Head Coach. Savor the moment. We are behind you. A few random thoughts: Frazier remains a wienie, recruit athletes, contact Rigot re: his possible interest in assisting, run on offense, press on defense, bring in someone to teach the fine art of free throw shooting, and when in doubt do things your way.

Excellent, excellent choice. I've been a Warriors basketball fan for years, even before the Fabulous Five. Bob Nash has given so much the Univerisity. This opportunity is well deserved.

What took so long? Bob, family, and friends went through months of unnecessary anxiety and stress. Up tempo offense and intense defense sounds like a successful strategy.

Here we have the Al Davis method of hiring a coach of last resort. No knock on Bob Nash as he has a fine reputation. But clearly the Herm wanted someone better and could not convince any takers with pedigree. In doing so as this blog has pointed out, we lost recruiting opportunity. With the remaining characters left I note the trend towards the AD and his watered down approach to the Warriors. Herm, you discount the national media on why the discount UH when it matters. Why have divison IAA on your schedule. Colt should have bolted.

Everyone should take a step back and embrace the hiring of Coach Nash and his dedication to Hawaii and his alma mater. Let us not concern ourselves with the difficulty of Mr. Frazier's scheduling or whether Colt made the right decision to stay. Lets just celebrate and enjoy this wonderful moment in our BASKETBALL program with the hiring of a much deserved and beloved person.

I mean come on...we have known Coach Wallace was retiring at the end of the season. We all knew who the coach should be...it is about time that Nashville (Coach Nash) was hired. What in the hell took so long??? Way to go there AD...did we lose any recruits because of it??? Time will tell but I will tell you that there is no better coach for this program than Coach Bob Nash. I know I thoroughly enjoyed him as an assistant coach when I was with the program in the early 90's and have continued our friendship through the years. Congrats to Coach Nash and the entire Nash family!!! The University of Hawaii will not regret this decision!!!!

We should look for a new AD now. Frazier is absolutely stupid, he took forever to hire a coach(which he already had, consequently that made us lose ground on some key recruits, and we still don't have a football schedule, which might turn out to be the easiest schedule in D1. We'll have a great season, but end up in the boo-hoo Hawaii Bowl. Colt is probably regretting not turning pro. Hawaii deserves better, and a better athletic director as well. We should not stand for NIT, nor the Hawaii Bowl. We deserve the big dance and the BCS.

A very good choice by the Athletic Department sticking with a familiar face, over the past three seasons since I have been here Coach Nash has always done a good job at not only getting the team fired up but also getting the fans into the game. I could not be happier for the team and Head Coach Bob Nash, congratulations and I cannot wait for another season of UH Basketball!!

Congratulations Coach Nash! Should have saved time and money by naming him a few months ago. Kudo's to our AD for making the right choice. A fast pace let 'em play team will bring in the fans. Can't wait for the next season. I had season tickets last year...I sat around hundreds of empty seats in the upper level. Get out and buy some season tickets and support Coach Nash and the team!

Time will tell if Nash was the right man, but it seems that he is the best fit at the moment. What the heck to Herman Frazier so long? Like he didn't know Riley Wallace was stepping down (sorry getting fired) for over a year now...Geez. Now only if we can get a decent Football Schedule from Herman "IAA" Frazier. On another note, how ironic it would be if the NEW HAWAII AD was announced to be Riley Wallace...Ha ha.
