UH water polo wins two matches

Fourth-ranked Hawai'i closed its regular season today with non-conference victories over 12th-ranked Hartwick College, 9-5, and host California Baptist, 7-5, at Riverside, Calif.

In the first match, the Rainbow Wahine surged to leads of 4-0 at the half and 7-1 after three quarters before holding on to snap the Hawks' 14-match winning streak.

In the second match, Amy Logan and Kelly Mason scored two goals apiece, and Lisa van Raalte scored the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter to lift the 'Bows over the Lancers.

Hawai'i finished the regular season 15-8 overall and 9-3 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, which will hold its championship tournament April 26 to 29 at Tempe, Ariz.
