Grand Canyon sweeps HPU in baseball doubleheader

Brad Western, Craig Daniel and Giancarlo Silverstri homered as Grand Canyon defeated Hawai'i Pacific, 14-9, today to complete a sweep of a non-conference doubleheader at Phoenix, Ariz.Western had four RBIs for the Antelopes (25-19), who scored seven runs in the fifth to take a 14-2 lead.
Mike Kelly hit his first career homer, a two-run shot, to spice a six-run seventh for the Sea Warriors (20-23). Tripper Chung led HPU with three hits and three RBIs.
In the first game, Steve Lux hit a two-run double with one out in the bottom of the seventh of Grand Canyon's 5-4 victory.
Colton Silva hit a solo homer for HPU.
