BYUH sweeps Chaminade in softball

Crystal De La Cruz pitched a four-hitter as Brigham Young-Hawai'i defeated Chaminade, 6-0, in the opener of a Pacific West Conference doubleheader at Laie.

De La Cruz struck out one and did not issue a walk in her fifth shutout of the season.

Clarissa Bruce hit a two-run single and Jana Dewey had a two-run double for the Seasiders, who won the second game, 9-7, to improve to 17-24 overall and 7-9 in the PacWest.

Holly Bjork hit a two-run homer, and Dewey, Rachelle Wade and Agesha Lightsy each added two hits and two RBIs for BYUH.

Carolyn Fisher had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs for the Silverswords (7-34, 3-11).
