In odd twist, UH volleyball could host playoff match

Advertiser Staff

In an odd scenario, in order for the University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team to host a conference playoff match, it must first lose tonight.

UH is in sixth place in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation standings. It must finish seventh in order to host a playoff match Wednesday at Stan Sheriff.

In other words, UH must lose to Stanford tonight and Cal State Northridge must win against USC. UH would then finish seventh and Cal State Northridge sixth.

If UH hosts a playoff, the match will be held 7 p.m. against the eighth-place MPSF team.

Information was mailed to all season-ticket holders and tickets

will go on sale to the general public on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online at HawaiiAthletics.com or at the Stan Sheriff Center Box Office, which will be open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
