Lota, Furtado lead Warriors past Spartans

Viena Lota scored 12 points and Alexis Furtado added 11, leading the Kamehameha Warriors to a 50-29 Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I victory over the Maryknoll Spartans last night at McCabe Gym.

The Warriors (5-1) led 20-12 at halftime and 34-23 entering the fourth quarter. Kamehameha then put the game away by outscoring Maryknoll, 16-6 in the final quarter.

Nicole Fu scored 13 points to lead the Spartans (0-7).

Raecha-Ann Kauahikaua scored nine points and Nalani Bayne added eight as the Lancers rolled past the Junior Rainbows in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II game at McCabe Gym.

Sacred Hearts led 11-0 after one quarter and 21-5 at halftime to improve to 8-0 and move into a first-place tie with Punahou.

Kalei Adams scored 13 points, Jazmine Pahukoa-Malia added 10 and the two combined to make 8 of 10 free throws in the final quarter to help the host Chargers (6-3) hold off the Mules (2-7) in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red West game.

Brittaney Stafford scored a game-high 21 points for Leilehua, which led 14-11 after the first quarter, but fell behind 20-19 at halftime.
