Nurses push to save Wahiawa hospital obstetrics unit

The closing of Wahiawa General Hospital's obstetrics unit will be discussed as the Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets tonight.Obstetrics nurses who say the birth center should remain open said they will address the meeting at 7 p.m. at the Wahiawa Recreation Center.
The hospital has said it is suspending the unit's work because it hasn't been utilized enough by the community and is losing money.
