Kahului compost site closed due to fire

KAHULUI, Maui — The EKO Compost site on Pulehu Road is closed while a small fire burns in a mulch storage area.Winds gusting up to 40 mph are creating heavy smoke conditions. No commercial or residential green waste will be accepted until the fire is extinguished.
Three fire engines, two water tankers and 15 firefighters are at the site.
