Western Oregon signed three standout Hawai'i high school softball players to national letters of intent, the school announced today.

Tierra-Lyn Cuba of Mililani and Sasha Koki and Jandee Taira of St. Francis will attend Western Oregon in the fall.

Cuba, a left-handed first baseman, was an Advertiser first team All-State selection, and was an all-O'ahu Interscholastic Association pick.

"Tierra-Lyn has great hands and is a quick as a cat," Western Oregon coach Pam Knox said in a press release. "She will contribute for us offensively with the bat as well."

Koki, a third baseman and utility player, also was an Advertiser first team all-state pick and was the Interscholastic League of Honolulu's Most Valuable Player.

"Sasha can play anywhere," Knox said. "She has great reactions and a real solid glove. She can also hit at a high level."

Taira, a centerfielder, was a first team ILH pick and on The Advertiser's all-state second team.

"Jandee is very athletic, and moves very well, Knox said. "She can also swing the bat on the offensive side."

Western Oregon is an NCAA Division II program that plays in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
