BYUH tops UH in women's tennis match

The Brigham Young-Hawai'i women's tennis team, ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II, defeated the University of Hawai'i, 5-2, today at the UH Tennis Complex.

Yuliya Ustyuzhanina teamed with Dori Magas to help BYUH earn the doubles point with a sweep of the three matches, then defeated Kana Aikawa, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 1 singles match as the Seasiders improved to 28-0.

Kun Deng and Anna Anikanova also won in doubles and singles for BYUH.

Sophie Kobuch and Julia Sandborn won their singles matches for the Rainbow Wahine (5-16).

Meanwhile, Andreas Weber and Sascha Heinemann helped the UH men beat the 14th-ranked Seasiders, 6-1.

Weber and Heinemann teamed to win the No. 1 doubles match, and also won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, as UH (7-10) won its third straight match.

Jakub Huza won at No. 4 singles for BYUH (12-3).
