More than 20 conservation, recycling and Hawaiian cultural preservation groups will participate in the fifth annual Earth Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens at 150 Kanaloa Ave.

The free event will feature cultural activities and demonstrations, food booths, a silent auction and plant sale. George Kahumoku Jr. and Richard Ho'opi'i will headline the entertainment.

The celebration is sponsored by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

Volunteers are needed Friday for setup and Saturday for game leaders, gift shop sales and security. To sign up, e-mail mnbg@maui.net.
