UH soccer signs five

Midfielder Mari Punzal, named the Advertiser Girls Soccer State Player of the Year earlier this month, highlights a list of five signees for the University of Hawai'i women's soccer program.
Defender/midfielder Chelsea Deptula out of Punahou joins Punzal, from Kamehameha, as the two Hawai'i recruits.
The three out-of-state recruits are midfielder/forward Laura Euers of Australia, goalkeeper Nicole McClure of New York and midfielder/forward Nicole Mikula of Pennsylvania.
Tabbed a Top 150 recruit by Soccer Buzz, Mikula is the first player from Pennsylvania to sign with UH.
The Rainbow Wahine return 17 letterwinners and 10 starters from last season's squad that finished 8-11-2 overall and 2-5 in the Western Athletic Conference.

DIXIE STATE WINS PAIR
Britni Maglish drove in three runs and Jessie Dunn fired a four-hitter as Dixie State (Utah) beat Brigham Young-Hawai'i, 11-1, yesterday to complete a non-conference women's softball doubleheader sweep at La'ie.
Rachelle Wade doubled in BYUH's lone run in the bottom of the third inning of the five-inning game.
In the first game, Carli Jones and Brittany Edlefsen had three RBIs apiece and Dixie State rallied from 6-4 deficit to win, 11-6.
The Rebels (34-9) scored six runs in the sixth and added another run in the seventh. Holly Bjork drove in three runs for the Seasiders (17-26).
UH BASEBALL
SATURDAY TICKETS SCARCE
Fewer than 600 tickets are available for Saturday's Western Athletic Conference baseball game between first-place Louisiana Tech and fourth-place Hawai'i, UH announced yesterday. Game time is 6:35 p.m.
The Rainbows play a three-game series with the Bulldogs Friday through Sunday at Les Murakami Stadium.
Chevron is the title sponsor for Friday's 6:35 p.m. game. Fans can redeem their Chevron gas (minimum of eight gallons) receipt for two free tickets in the upper level for Friday's game only. The receipts may be redeemed on Friday only at the stadium box office while supplies last, UH said.
