Big Island man escapes serious injury in 30-foot tumble

A 52-year-old Big Island man escaped serious injury yesterday after he fell off a 30-foot cliff about 12:30 p.m. and tumbled into a ravine on agricultural land near Kalopa in the Honoka'a District of the Big Island.Big Island firefighters and rescue crew members brought the man back up the slope.
He was taken to the North Hawai'i Community Hospital emergency room where he was treated for minor injuries, fire officials said.
