Honolulu man, 27, gets 16 years for dealing meth

Advertiser Staff

A 27-year-old Honolulu man was sentenced yesterday to 16 years in prison for conspiring to distribute and possess, with intent to distribute, more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.

Brandon Yamamoto received the sentence in U.S. District Court from judge J. Michael Seabright.

According to court proceedings, Yamamoto was part of a conspiracy that received quantities of meth by the pound from 2004 to September 2005. Court records said Yamamoto received shipments from Las Vegas. He pleaded guilty in December, admitting to receiving 20 pounds of meth from 2004 to September 2005.

He was on probation for various state offenses during the time he was receiving the drugs, which increased his federal jail time.
