Advertiser Staff

Power was restored about 8:05 this morning to about 300 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers in the Ka'a'awa area.

Company spokeswoman Janet Crawford said service was lost about 6:45 a.m. due to an equipment problem.

Meanwhile, a problem with underground cables in Niu Valley left a number of HECO customers without power for varying amounts of time beginning at 11:17 p.m. Tuesday.

Power was restored to the first group of customers about 12:38 a.m. today. The second group was brought back online about 1:04 a.m., Crawford said.

Power was restored to the final group of customers about 5:51 a.m.
