UH middle blocker Dante named all-MPSF second team

Three University of Hawaii players earned Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors, the conference announced today.

Senior middle blocker Dio Dante was named to the all-MPSF second team while senior opposite Lauri Hakala and senior setter Brian Beckwith were named to the third team.

Pepperdine took two of the top three honors.

Jonathan Winder, a junior setter from Pepperdine, was named MPSF Player of the Year while Pepperdine coach Marv Dunphy was Coach of the Year.

Yamil Perez, a freshman setter from Brigham Young, was named Newcomer of the Year.
