Papaya output up 4 percent in March from February

Hawai'i fresh papaya production rose 4 percent in March to an estimated 2.2 million pounds compared with February, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service.March production was down 2 percent from last year. Cumulative sales for the first quarter of 2007 were down 10 percent to 6.6 million pounds compared with the year-ago period .
