Threat shut down Kalamazoo Valley CC
Associated Press
KALAMAZOO, Mich. A threat posted on an online blog worried Kalamazoo Valley Community College officials enough today that they shut down the campus for the rest of the week, the sheriff's department said. The threat followed a week of lock-downs and evacuations at schools across the country in the wake of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre.
At the University of Minnesota, eight buildings evacuated Wednesday after a bomb threat was found were open again this morning. A student had found that note in a chemistry building restroom, but after about six hours of searching, university police Chief Greg Hestness said officers had found nothing unusual.
Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Michael Bowen wouldn't described the contents on the blog that worried the community college there. He said the university would be closed today and Friday.
